Different Types Of Camping Gear
Camping is becoming increasingly popular. It was first treated as a leisurely pursuit around the 1920s and in recent years has had more of a resurgence. There is a wide variety of people who use camping gear, whether you are a family on holiday pitching a tent in a field or a group of friends at a music festival. When choosing camping gear it is important to bear in mind the climate. With this in mind, the first thing to look at is the type of tent you want. A good tent should be water proof and keep out the sun. They come in various sizes, such as dome shaped as well as the classic triangular style tents that people are familiar with. Whatever style you go with, make sure there is enough room for everyone inside. Another key thing is the sleeping bag. If the weather is likely to be cold it should be thick and well insulated or thinner for warmer climates. Like the tent you should make sure you get a sleeping bag in your size or you could get very cold and uncomfortable.

If you want the traditional experience then you may choose to do a campfire. Alternatively there are camping stoves or charcoal grills that can let you cook a wider variety of food and maintain heat even when firewood is scarce. It is generally advised to have a cooler so you can have bottled water and fruit and vegetables alongside the more traditional camping foods like hot dogs and beans. Other camping gear may be less obvious but should be considered. Insect repellent can keep the bugs at bay, while a map and compass can ensure you can effectively plan a hike in the woods and are less likely to get lost. If you are going on a family holiday, board games, balls and other play things can make sure that your children are not bored in the great outdoors.
