Directions for canvas wall tents.

1. Start by unfolding your canvas tent and locating the front door (zipper). Make sure door is zipped shut.

2. At the bottom of your canvas tent stake down the four corners, nice and square in the position you want your tent to be in.

3. Where the roof of the canvas tent meets the canvas wall is the eve (a.k.a. lip, flap, tag). There will a number of grommets along each side of your tent. Locate your eye-bolts and remove nuts and install eye-bolts to these grommets. The eye or loop should be on top/roof side; wind nut on from underneath to fasten eye-bolt to tent.

4. Tie blank end of rope to the eye-bolts you attached to canvas tent (corners get extra ropes).

5. If you are using a wood stove, roll and tie cover above stove jack now!

6. Using the wall poles, stand the corner up by setting the wall pole over the head of the stake at the bottom and inserting bottom half of eye-bolt in the top. Pull ropes out and stake off. (The four corners should have two ropes.) Tensioners work by having a big loop between the holes. That loop is what wraps around the rope stake. Repeat at other three corners. (Should look like a swimming pool now.)

7. Unzip canvas door and slide ridge pole (poles with holes drilled in it usually three pieces) in on the ground.

8. Grab an upright pole (pins on one end and caps on other) that has a long pin. Crawl under tent to the BACK. Stick long pin through hole drilled in end of ridge pole. Locate grommet in the top of tent; stick remaining pin through grommet.

9. Repeat step 8 at the front of the canvas tent.

10. Insert upright with SHORT pin in center hole of ridge pole (right in the middle of the tent). Larger canvas wall tents have two uprights with short pins spaced accordingly.

11. Finish by inserting wall poles in the middle along both sides. Don't pull extremely tight until both sides are up! Then tension them evenly.

12. When finished with tent be sure to STORE IT DRY!
