Go Green with Abadak
Abadak Outdoors’ mission is to improve the quality of what we experience outdoors, to have a higher purpose that exceeds commerce and focuses more on contribution. The environmental challenges we face are enormous. When we consider the enormity of the environmental crisis it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and helpless. Obviously, the solution is not as simple as changing an incandescent bulb to a CFL. Being a leader in emergency supplies and specializing in outdoor products enables us to give back to people in need and help preserve our environment. Abadak Outdoors has been a the world leader for tornado, earthquake and hurricane supplies to FEMA, The Red Cross and the USACE as well as donating supplies to hurricane victims for past hurricane relief efforts.
Altruism is always a rewarding option for everyone. But at Abadak we believe it is an absolute obligation for us to be actively involved with saving the environment for the simple reason that we are a company that sells outdoor products and promotes the outdoors.
People always ask me, “What does Abadak Mean?” Abadak is a created word which means; …to inhabit and cherish your outdoor environment. Our company slogan is, “Abadak your outdoor habitat!” There was no word in the English language that seemed to articulate the essence of who we are as a company and what we are trying to do so, we created one.
We want to change the way people live, play, work, and survive outdoors and at the same time preserve our environment. That is why along with our other donations and efforts, Abadak Outdoors donates 1% of all net earnings to environmental causes. We encourage other companies to do the same. In the quest for self preservation many companies neglect the quest for the preservation of our environment. In today’s highly competitive world it is easy to get caught up and lose sight of one of the most important things in our life, the home in which we live – planet Earth.
